A Celebration of Kindness, Connection, and Youth Leadership
Saturday, January 24 | 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Georgetown Day School, Washington, DC

Honeycomb’s DC launch event was a morning filled with purpose, play, and connection. Over 100 guests enjoyed coffee, lite bites, and great conversation as they met our DC Advisory Board and learn how this nationally recognized model is redefining youth leadership through service.

After the kickoff, teams of 4–6 went into the neighborhood for a kindness-themed scavenger hunt to spread cheer and raise vital funds to launch Honeycomb’s programs in DC. Together, we uplifted our families, friends, and neighbors through small but powerful acts of kindness—from celebrating city workers to sharing gratitude with loved ones.

This was the beginning of something big—changing how DC gives back.

About Us

For nearly 15 years, The Honeycomb Project has transformed how families in Chicago give back—engaging thousands of kids and parents in hands-on projects that meet urgent community needs. In Chicago, we partner with nearly 60 nonprofits to lead over 350 projects each year, providing a pathway for young people to take action in their communities.

This moment of expansion is critical. Nonprofits across DC are struggling to meet growing demands with shrinking resources. Honeycomb is stepping up to mobilize volunteers and provide resources to help sustain their work. Our programs will operate year-round, creating a consistent, reliable volunteer pipeline for partners across the region.

Your investment will build the infrastructure needed to bring this vision to life—from staffing and partnerships to program design and family recruitment—creating powerful ways for kids to connect with their families, build community, and make a lasting impact across Washington, DC.
